A representative of the Nigerian Bar Association has called out comedian Lasisi for 'misrepresenting' lawyers in his skits.   Habeeb Lawal, the Assistant National Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, took to Twitter to react to one of Lasisi's comedy videos.   In the skit, Lasisi dressed like a lawyer and also played the part of one.   Reacting, Habeeb Lawal wrote: "Dear @lasisielenu, We've been tagged! 779 new cases of COVID19 were recorded in Nigeria on Saturday, June 27.   According to the statistics released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, Lagos recorded 285 new cases, 68 in Rivers, 60 in FCT, 60 in Edo, 56 in Enugu, 47 in Delta, 42 in Ebonyi, 41 in Oyo, 19 in Kaduna, 18 in Ogun, 16 in Ondo, 12 in Imo, 11 in Sokoto, 9 in Borno, 8 in Nasarawa, 5 in Abia, 5 in Gombe, 5 in Kebbi, 4 in Kano, 3 in Yobe, 3 in Ekiti and 2 in Osun.   Nigeria now has 24, 077 confirmed cases of the viral disease with 558 fatalities.   See break down according to states below Share by Adeniji Inflex

Manchester United head coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has praised Odion Ighalo saying the club truly values him.   Solksjaer made his comments in reaction to Ighalo's predatory instincts after the on-loan striker netted against Norwich City in the FA Cup on Saturday.   Ighalo continued his goalscoring form in cup competitions with the opener as Manchester United beat Norwich 2-1 in Saturday’s quarter-final.   Ighalo's goal was his first shot of the game, prompting praise from his manager.                                                                  Retired Nigeria goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama  has been named as new goalkeeper coach of French National 3 club side, Iris Club de Croix.   Enyeama, 37,  played for French club Lille during his playing days, but has been without a club since he left the club in August 2018.   Now, Iris has given the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner a coaching role where he gets to train the club's reserves and u-16 goalkeepers.     In a statement released on Iris Club’s Facebook and Instagram page, the club announced his new job which starts immediately.   Enyeama began his professional career at Ibom stars in 1999 before joining Enyimba where he helped the club win three Nigeria Professional League titles, two Caf Champions Leagues and one Caf Super Cup diadem.   From 2005 to 2018 saw him play for Bnei Yehuda, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Lille .                                           Liverpool football club of England are now the premier league champions after Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-1 tonight.   Manchester city needed to win Chelsea tonight to have a chance of defending the title against Liverpool next week but faltered after Chelsea's two goals.     It took Liverpool 28 wins and 86 points amid a Coronavirus imposed break after an incredible season where they have lost only once, to win the title . Veteran Nollywood actor, Gbolagade Akinpelu also known as ‘Ogun Majek’  has died.   According to report:   Ogun Majek, who has been battling an ailment for many months, died in the early hours of  Thursday, June 25 in his Ibadan residence.   Filmmaker, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, who confirmed Majek's death on his Facebook page, wrote ''From him we come and on to him we shall return, Alh Gbolagade Akinpelu Ogunmajek has return to his creator, may God almighty rest his soul among the righteous. Gunmen attack filling station in Ondo, attendant killed An attack by some gunmen at a filling station in Akure, Ondo state's capital on Tuesday June 23, left one person dead.    The state's police spokesperson, Tee-Leo Ikoro said a filling station along Oba-Ile Road area of the city was attacked late in the night on Tuesday. Though the gunmen did not succeed in robbing the filling station, the incident however led to pandemonium with people scampering for safety.   Two suspects were arrested not far from the scene of the incident in connection to the crime, while two other suspects who escaped are being trailed by the police. A rifle, a dane gun, some cartridges and live ammunition were recovered from the two arrested suspects.   Ikoro said;    "With the intervention of policemen, two of the armed robbers have been arrested. World Bank approves $750m loan to improve electricity in Nigeria The World Bank has approved a $750 million loan to the Federal government which is to be used to improve electricity supply in the country.   In a statement released today Wednesday, June 24, the World Bank said the loan is for the power sector recovery operation (PSRO) to achieve financial sustainability and enhance accountability in the sector. According to the bank, the PSRO will ensure that 4,500 MWh/hour of electricity is supplied to the distribution grid by 2022.   Shubham Chaudhuri, World Bank country director for Nigeria, said an improved supply of electricity will lift at least 100 million Nigerians out of poverty. “The lack of reliable power has stifled economic activity and private investment and job creation, which is ultimately what is needed to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty. 55-year-old man has been found in a pool of his own blood after he had been hacked to  death  by yet-to-be-identified persons in Ahaba Orodo community area in Imo state. The spokesperson of the state police command, Ikeikwu Orlando, in a statement released today June 22, said operatives of the Divisional Police Headquarters, Mbaitoli acting on a report earlier made to the station, moved to an isolated area around the Ahaba Orodo Community School and found the corpse of the 55-year-old man identified as  Patrick Uchenwoke , in the pool of his own blood. ”Operatives discovered that he had a deep machete cut at the back of his head, while a bicycle and bible was seen beside the corpse, thus suggesting that he must have been murdered while going or returning from church.” the statement read Ikeokwu said the state Commissioner of Police, Imo State has ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter with a view to arresting the assassins as well as unraveling the reason behind the dastard
