On 26 July 2023, a coup d'état occurred in Niger when the country's presidential guard detained President Mohamed Bazoum, and presidential guard commander General Abdourahamane Tchiani proclaimed himself the leader of a new military junta. Presidential guard forces closed the country's borders, suspended state institutions, and declared a curfew. This was the fifth military coup d'état since the country gained independence from France in 1960, and the first since 2010. NEWS; Amotekun nabs kidnap suspect luring girl with N50

  Adeniji Inflex share this story on 8th of Aug 2023 A 25-year-old suspected kidnapper has been arrested by operatives of Amotekun Corps  at Obanisola Street  in Osogbo, Osun state's capital,  for luring a girl with N50 in an attempt to abduct her.   Mumini Oseni who was previously convicted of armed robbery, was nabbed when the victim raised the alarm which attracted the attention of her mother, forcing the suspect to attempt to flee the scene.   H e was arrested before he could escape from the area by Amotekun operatives who responded to the distress call. Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Brig.-Gen. Adeniji Inflex share this story on 8th of Aug 2023 A Nigerian man, Neo, has said that marriage is commitment and couples are entitled to make demands that will discomfort each other.   The man, who stated this while responding to tweets on Tuesday, August 8, said that if a man wants food, even Egusi and pounded yam by 1:am, his wife must cook it for him.    “She MUST cook it for him. If the same wife can have her car break down anywhere, she abandons the car there then calls her husband to come pick it up and fix it, and he does exactly that, the man is also entitled to make demands that will discomfort her. Marriage is COMMITMENT,” he wrote.    “You cannot attach conditions when I want my owns needs met. I don't care if your car breaks down in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere, once you call me, I am rushing to your aid.
